    Executive Summary
    The Virginia Military Family Relief Fund (VaMFRF) has been available since fiscal year 2006, to assist all of the Commonwealth's citizen soldiers serving in each of the reserve components. Increased awareness through Virginia National Guard Assistance Center outreach, marketing efforts and the support of the reserve component representatives serving as members of the Virginia Military Family Relief Fund Committee has enabled the effective delivery of assistance to our deployed citizen-soldiers and their families.

    There were 51 approved applications that were each awarded $2,500.00 or less. Recipients were qualified as follows: 1 Langley AFB, 8 Kuwait, 37 Iraq, 4 Afghanistan, and 1 Fort Eustis. The total amount of assistance provided was $54,223.53.
