Explanation:
(This amendment provides an additional $434,903 each year from the general fund for the Northern Virginia Regional Commission (NVRC), the planning district commission serving the PDC 8 region. These funds are needed to support work mandated in the Regional Cooperation Act (§ 15.2-4200 et seq.). This funding would raise the state contribution to the long-recommended minimum funding level of 35 cents per capita. Currently, the general fund contribution to NVRC for its work in the state's largest region is lower than the amount contributed in fiscal year 1988, at just 14.1 cents per capita in fiscal year 2008.)
