Explanation:
(This amendment provides $4.75 million from the general fund in fiscal year 2010 for improvements to the Lake Manassas T. Nelson Elliot Dam. The general fund support will match the local contribution made to this project by the City of Manassas. Improvements are necessary to meet new dam safety regulations and to permit the dam to remain in operation as a potable water supplier to over 100,000 people and major industrial facilities such as Micron Technology and Lockheed Martin.)
