Explanation:
(This amendment provides $750,000 GF per year to reinstate funding that was provided during the 2006-08 biennium to Northern Virginia Community College to support public-private sector partnerships in order to maximize the number of newly licensed nurses and increase the supply of nursing faculty. Previously, this funding was allocated among the five regional public and private educational institutions with nursing education programs. Additional faculty and staff were hired at these programs and enrollment increased by 222 nursing students. Without this funding, this program will not be able to maintain the expanded number of nursing education students.)
